Tokaji Aszu-Eszencia (2003)

It is an exceptional, west-facing, rocky hillside vineyard in Mád, whose soil is composed of rhyolite bedrock and compact clay. This high elevation, historical grand cru site yields outstanding dry wines with excellent depth and character. The grapes were harvested at 21.5 Brix end of September. We used a traditional vertical press for pressing gently. The juice fermented in Hungarian oak and aged in Hungarian oak for 8 months. We made 523 bottles of this wine in 2012. Aromatic nose with honey, white flowers, linden blossom, and some spices. Beautiful richness, great minerality, medium body, a nice creaminess on the palate, but great crisp finish.
